Temp.-to-Hire Financial Analyst III

Dept: Finance/Accounting

Position Location: 1000 St. Albans Dr. Raleigh, NC 27609

Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. (some overtime may be required)

Position Description:

Conducts highly technical financial research and analysis to provide all levels of management with definitive financial data and advice for their use in setting and achieving short and long-term strategic financial objectives for the organization. Researches, collects and evaluates statistical data; participates in the development and preparation of reports.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Preparing analyses and reports.
  • Gathering data from departments; updating reports; and analyzing statistical data to identify trends, correct errors, and to evaluate general content.
  • Operation, maintenance, and support of our Internal Modeling System and related reporting.
  • Analyzing financial reports from our Internal Modeling systems and/or producing reports from our Client-Server (Host) system.
  • Supporting management in the analysis of the Investment portfolio and maintenance of our Mortgage Servicing Rights software and Share / Loan pricing system.
  • Coordinating department input for annual budget and corporate financial plan summaries to Executive Management.

Position requirements:

  • A four-year college degree in Business, Finance or Accounting or equivalent work experience concentrated in financial analysis and related reporting. Credit Union or previous financial institution experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and Power Point. Financial modeling experience preferred.
  • Good communication skills.

Temp.-to-Hire Systems Operations Specialist

Dept: Information Technology

Position Location: 1000 St. Albans Dr. Raleigh, NC 27609

Hours: Weekly rotational schedule; Systems Operations Specialists are deemed Essential Staff and may be required to work during weekends, holidays, routine overtime, inclement weather, and natural disasters.

Position Description:

Coastal has an immediate requirement for a qualified person to perform data center operations duties in support of a financial organization with $2B+ in assets. Duties include the monitoring of systems, support the adoption of new applications and systems, resolution of service outages and providing Help Desk/Service Desk support to internal users.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Actively monitor the performance of the credit union’s systems. Effectively use tools, techniques and procedures that enable the real-time monitoring of the company’s major platforms and telecommunications network. Assist with the development of processes and procedures, including problem notification and resolution that encompasses all daily/nightly processing jobs and ensure that such jobs are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Report and effectively resolve system incidents when appropriate in accordance with established policies and procedures and in coordination with engineering, security, analytical staffs as well as vendors and partners. Perform business continuity/disaster recovery actions as appropriate. Participate in BC/DR tests and evaluations and be prepared to execute recovery options when directed.
  • Execute processing tasks and other data center related duties as directed such as the performance of system backups, recovery testing and validation processes. Additional duties may include application/system installations, testing and validation of proper system functioning.
  • Provide superior Help Desk/Service Desk services to internal users to include the proper identification, classification of IT incidents. Receive, resolve, or escalate service requests pertaining to areas such as workstations, system performance degradations as well as system access requests. Correctly refer unresolved problems to 2nd or 3rd tier support work groups.
  • Participate in projects that introduce new technological solutions to the credit union and position it for further growth.

Position requirements:

  • Two years of data center operations experience.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, the technologies and systems used by the company, with particular emphasis on Microsoft enterprise solutions and IBM servers and workstations. At least two years progressive experience and training in these technologies. Operational experience with enterprise-class Microsoft Client-Server and SQL 2005/2008 business applications required.
  • Formal training and education in computer science/technology field. CompTIA certifications and/or a college degree strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Strong communication skills.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with financial institution data processing
  • Familiarity with ACH processing.
  • Familiarity with ATM network management
  • Familiarity with automated secure file transfer methods
  • Familiarity with server maintenance procedures and patching
  • Experience as a business systems analyst, application or systems administrator
  • Experience with automated business process development
  • Familiarity with ITIL concepts, practices and processes
  • Experience or familiarity with project management in an IT environment
