Online Account Opening
Introducing Online Account Opening! With this new service you can add additional Savings and Checking products to your existing primary account or join Coastal and open up a brand-new account.
Products You Can Open Online:
- Go Green, Dividend, and Basic Checking
- Primary and Special Savings
- Money Market
- Certificates: 180-Day, 12-60-Month, and Special 12-Month Student
There are two different ways to use Online Account Opening:
Accessing From Online Banking:
If you wish to add a deposit product to the account that you're logged into Online Banking with, you can click on "Online Account Opening" within Online Banking. This will automatically put you into the Online Account Opening application where you can add products.
Accessing From COASTAL24.com:
Any of the above products can be opened from the product pages on COASTAL24.com. When you click the "Open Now" button for that product, it takes you into Online Account Opening. Additionally, you can join Coastal online through this service via the "Join Coastal" page.
Funding
As part of the new Online Account Opening process, you have the ability to fund your new products. While existing members have the ability to transfer funds from an existing account there are other ways to fund new accounts:
Credit/Visa Check Card - The system allows you to use their Credit and Check Cards to fund the new account. All credits will appear on the product within three days of the approval of the application.
ACH Debit from Another FI - You can also choose to debit your Checking or Savings account at another institution using ACH debit. If you choose this way to fund your products, the deposits will be made in 3 to 5 business days from the date the application was approved.
Deposit in the Branch - New members may also choose to bring their deposit by their local branch.
Mail Deposit to Member Account Services - You may elect to mail your initial deposits into the Member Account Services team.
