The Power of Sharing was created in 2016 to bring different business partners together to demonstrate their commitment to bettering their communities through a collaborative funding forum. The goal was to recognize the tremendous impact that local non-profits are making throughout the community.

“It’s one of the key things I’ve learned by making a career in cooperatives. We’re all connected. We can all be lifted by collective success,” Coastal Credit Union CEO Chuck Purvis said in his closing remarks.  He later added, “Remember that we’re all in this together, and that a community is bound together by what it shares.”

Partners included in last night’s awards were: AT&T, BASF, Blue Cross NC, Citrix, Duke Energy, IBM, and Lenovo. WRAL’s Debra Morgan served as emcee.  Entertainment was provided by Durham-based organization, KidzNotes and Carnage Magnet Middle School performer Seo Jardia, as well as local singer/songwriter Kaylin Roberson. The event took place at American Tobacco Campus, Bay 7 and catering was provided by the Angus Barn.
