The Requirements for Grant Submissions

We support worthy causes in our North Carolina communities, focusing on the Central North Carolina counties the Credit Union serves. As a grant-awarding Foundation, we identify submissions of the highest quality when supporting organizations in our focus areas.

  • To be eligible, applicant must be a 501(c)(3) organization listed with the IRS

  • Grants are made for specific projects or programs

  • The grant application is online and must be submitted with required documents when invited to apply from Foundation staff

  • Applications are reviewed on a quarterly basis for funding, contact will be made with the person listed on the grant application

      Frequently asked questions about the Coastal Credit Union Foundation.

      The Coastal Credit Union Foundation focuses on three major areas: affordable housing, financial well-being, and access to resources. We fund non-profit organizations that are making an impact in these areas through programs.
      The Coastal Credit Union Foundation offers volunteer opportunities to anyone interested in supporting our cause. We highlight these opportunities throughout the year in the Spotlight in our newsletter.
      The Coastal Credit Union Foundation reviews grants three times a year to fund the priorities. Each time, the applications are reviewed against a rubric and voted on by the board of directors.
      The Coastal Credit Union Foundation is funded by donations from Coastal Credit Union, Coastal Credit Union partner organizations, employees, and members.
      In order to qualify for funding, the organization needs to be a 501c3, have an active board of directors, and an annual budget.
      Once you are invited to apply for a grant, the link will be sent to you via email. Please click the link and fill out the full application. Once the application is submitted, the review committee will grade the application against the rubric and recommend for funding to the board of directors. Once the board of directors reviews and votes on the grants, we will notify each applicant.
      The board of directors vote to approve grants three times a year at their meetings. Typically, once you submit an application, you will receive an email from the Foundation within 90 days of grant application submission.
      Coastal Credit Union Foundation partners with Coastal Credit Union to provide funding to non-profit organizations, assist with onsite events with the Coastal Credit Union community impact team, providing volunteer opportunities, and offering educational opportunities for groups.
