Our Commitment to Accessibility

Coastal Credit Union is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to assist members with disabilities and ensure easy access to our services.

Website Accessibility

We have implemented the recommendations of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) as published by the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). While there is no definitive test nor certification of conformance to Level AA of the WCAG, we have utilized various methods for assessing accessibility:

  • Page Compliance

Coastal strives to make every page accessible to users but cannot guarantee that every page fully meets Level AA compliance.

  • Guideline Adherence

We have utilized WCAG guidelines for compliance as recommended by the Department of Justice. While some of the standards meet 508 Compliance, Coastal is not fully 508 Compliant.

  • Global Standards

Coastal chose to use WCAG for compliance because these guidelines are established by the W3C, the consortium responsible for creating standards for the Internet globally.

Branch Accessibility

  • Our branches are designed to meet all federal, state, and local standards for accessibility. Visitors who have difficulty entering or navigating our branches may request assistance from our branch greeter or any branch employee. We also welcome service animals to assist our visitors.

ATM Accessibility - Our ATMs are equipped to serve users with visual impairments and include the following features:

  • Tactile Input Controls

Controls with symbols, ascending/descending keypads with visual contrast.

  • Braille Instructions

    For easy access and understanding.

  • Headset Port

    Offers verbal instructions via headphones.

  • Speech Mode Controls

Allow users to receive auditory feedback during ATM transactions.
