Apply for the Rate Advantage Secured Visa®
You can apply online, in a branch, or by calling us at 800-868-4262.
Setting Up
Once you’re approved for the card, you will need to open a Special Savings Account with a deposit of 110% of your approved credit limit to secure your card.

The Rate Advantage Secured Visa® is ideal for members who are looking to build or rebuild their credit.
Our secured credit card helps you establish or rebuild a healthy credit score by allowing you to use your savings as collateral. Your funds are on hold as collateral for the secured card. When your card is established, 110% of your credit limit is required to be deposited in the collateral savings account. You can also earn dividends on your collateral savings.
The deposit is what secures the credit card. Because of the credit limit required at time of application, Coastal Credit Union wants to build trust and secure a way to collect funds if the credit card goes into default.
There is no minimum credit score required for our Rate Advantage Secured Visa®.
