The Next Chapter of Coastal’s History

Dear Members,

I wanted to mark my first day as CEO with a quick note letting all of you know how excited I am about being here. 

First, a quick introduction. I’m Tyler, an Ohio native who is eager to put down North Carolina roots. I’ve only lived in Raleigh for a couple weeks, but I fell in love with the Triangle area on my first visit and know I’ll fit right in. I’m a dad, a sports fan, and most important, I’m a credit union advocate to my very core.  I spent the past 11 years as the CEO of a credit union in Louisiana. In all, I’ve spent 23 years in credit unions, serving members and doing what I can to help them on their path to financial well-being.   

I believe that credit unions are the best providers of financial services, and I’m eager to make Coastal the best of the best. Prior to getting hired, I already admired Coastal as a well-respected leader among credit unions. We have an amazing history, and I’m humbled and honored to have the opportunity to help write our next chapter.

We have a great foundation to build upon, an incredible team, and the strength of our technology and member experience. My plan going forward is to continue building on that foundation, and working to fulfill our mission of helping North Carolinians bank better to live better.

Over the coming weeks, I’ll visit branches and meet members. I’m also looking forward to meeting some of you at our Annual Meeting on April 24. I want to hear your perspectives and understand your needs.

After all, my success as CEO will depend on helping you succeed in your financial journey.
