Coastal Credit Union Foundation Hosts Philanthropy Summit

The Coastal Credit Union Foundation, in collaboration with Carolinas Credit Union Foundation, Civic Local Foundation, and State Employees Credit Union Foundation, hosted a Philanthropy Summit last week in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The Summit was designed to connect a new group of foundations and nonprofits from across the state and give them an opportunity to network, connect and learn. 60 foundation and nonprofit organization employees/volunteers were in attendance.

Speakers included:

  • Chad Helminak, Chief Impact Officer, National Credit Union Foundation
  • Eric Guckian, CEO, United Way of the Greater Triangle
  • Sarah Mann Willcox, Executive Director, N.C. Network of Grantmakers
  • Selene Johnson, M.Ed., BCBA, Executive Director, ABC of NC
  • Katrina R. Knight, MSW, Executive Director, Good Shepherd Center

"We were honored to collaborate with our peers to make the summit a reality,” said Emily Nail, Executive Director of Coastal Credit Union Foundation. “This event was the embodiment of our mission to promote education, networking, and connection for foundations and non-profits throughout North Carolina.”

Foundations were introduced during lunch roundtable discussions, including:

  • Duke Energy Foundation – Louis Duke, Foundation Manager
  • Camber Foundation - Christopher Fipps, Director of Community Investment
  • Golden LEAF Foundation – Marilyn Chism, Director of Programs
  • Z Smith Reynolds Foundation – Alexandria Jones, Program Officer
  • SECU Foundation - Daniel Nobles, Program Analyst
  • Coastal Credit Union Foundation - Emily Nail, Executive Director
  • Local Civic Foundation - Jaz Kilpatrick, Executive Director
  • Truliant Foundation, Atticus Simpson
  • Allegacy Foundation, Lori Timm
  • Carolina Credit Union Foundation - Lauren Whaley, Executive Director
