The Coastal Credit Union Foundation has awarded $252,500 to 15 nonprofits in North Carolina during its Q1 2024 grant cycle. The fifteen grants given to these nonprofits will improve access to resources and support financial well-being programs throughout our local communities.

The Foundation’s most recent grantees include:

Access to Resources

Chapel Hill-Carrboro Childrens Museum
Cooperative Council of North Carolina
Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina
Lillington UMC Garden Project
NC Museum of History
NeighborHealth Center
Sugar Bear Foundation
The Help Center NC
The No Woman, No Girl Initiative

Financial Well-Being

Community Empowerment Fund
Dunn Police Athletic and Activities League
Gabi’s Powered by Special Abilities
Refugee Community Partnership

“Our ability to support a variety of organizations in our community is a testament to the Power of a Penny,” said Emily Nail, executive director of the Foundation. “Each time members use their Coastal debit or credit card, the credit union donates a penny to the Foundation. That may seem like a small amount, but all those pennies added up to more than $379,365 last year that will be used to help our community in 2024.”
