2022-23 Credit Union Scholarship Applications Now Open
According to U.S. News & World Report, college costs are back on the rise, after seeing an uncharacteristic decline last year. For the 2022-23 school year, tuition at private universities has increased by 4%, while public schools are up 1%.
Those numbers may seem small compared to overall inflation, but cost has traditionally been the biggest hurdle that students face in completing higher education.
One way that credit unions can help prospective students is through the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation Scholarship Fund. The foundation oversees scholarships for several credit unions throughout the Carolinas, including Coastal.
Members of any credit union in North or South Carolina, with a non-weighted GPA of 3.0 or higher, are eligible to apply. The application deadline is February 1, 2023. Scholarship recipients will be notified in April.
