Credit Union Scholarships Help Members Offset Rising Tuition
The average college tuition costs continue to rise. Even in-state, public schools are now topping $10,000 a year to attend on average. Private schools are more than triple that. North Carolina colleges fare a bit better, but costs are still increasing.
One way that credit unions are able to help prospective students is through the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation Scholarship Fund. The foundation oversees scholarships for several credit unions in North and South Carolina, including Coastal.
Members of any credit union in the Carolinas, with a non-weighted GPA of 3.0 or higher, are eligible to apply. The application deadline is February 1, 2020. Scholarship recipients will be notified in April.
